Walking through Knaresborough Castle, I felt like I had stepped back in time. The ruins stood proudly on the cliff, offering breathtaking views of the River Nidd below. The gentle breeze carried the sounds of birds and distant chatter from the town, adding to the peaceful atmosphere.
As I wandered through the old stone walls, I imagined the history they had witnessed—knights, kings, and battles long past. Standing at the edge, overlooking the picturesque viaduct and river, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of calm and wonder.
It wasn’t just a visit; it was an experience—soaking in the beauty, the history, and the magic of this special place. Knaresborough Castle left me with a feeling of connection to the past and a memory I’ll always treasure.

If you're lucky, you can also visit the art market on the first Saturday of the month.

This is a really nice place to stop off at and have a look around. The local car parks are cheap and the high street that is 2 mins away has lots of food/coffee shops that look really nice. Best thing about the place is the view from behind the castle. It overlooks the viaduct and has a great view of Mother Shiptons. There are also steps down to the river, there is also a cave that makes a good place to pause if it is raining.

We didn't pay to go inside the castle, seemed pointless for £4 each. The grounds are nice and the view over the viaduct is unmatched
